Sorry boys this Ethereal Vixen is officially off the market!
A couple of months ago, I had the greatest pleasure of doing makeup and hair for one of my closest friends and my soul twin, Nai. She is jaw-droppingly stunning both inside and out! I had such a difficult time choosing pictures to post because all of them were absolutely gorgeous!
She does not like to wear a lot of makeup so we went for a minimal makeup look on the eyes and cheeks, but still kept it a little glamorous for her engagement party.
FACE: Her main area of concern was her skin which had a little leftover scarring from a recent breakout. I used some full coverage foundation to cover the scarring and did slight contouring of the cheekbones and nose and a lot of highlighting for an overall glow
BROWS: Filling in her brows completely transformed her face. I worked with the natural curve of her own eyebrows and used powder to give them a natural and softer look
LIPS: The red dress was a stunner so we decided to keep the lips muted with a nice nude shade close to her own lip colour
EYES: Light peach and browns on the lids, champagne in the corners and white in the inner rims (makes the eyes look bigger), with soft shades of brown on the lower lash line
For the top lashes, I used a liquid liner to give her eyes a sexy long look. I finished off her makeup with some lashes that would also add to the length of her eyes
HAIR: Nai has beautiful, heavy hair so it did not require much to make it look sexy so effortlessly. It was waved using a straightener and teased at the top to balance the heaviness at the bottom and to provide some lift at the crown
The overall look reflected Nai’s personality but with a little more glamour. I can’t wait for the wedding!!
Hope you guys enjoyed the transformation as much as I did!
While my MUA website is under construction, I decided to share some of my recent hair and makeup work. You can click on the images to enlarge them.
In June, I had the pleasure of working with Amna, who is truly a natural beauty! But she wanted to really glam it up for her prom.
We decided to go with a shimmery, silver smokey eye, which I refer to as “Ethereal Moonlight” to compliment her dress and her skin tone and to accentuate her naturally gorgeous features like her lips and eyes. The makeup really stood out in photography and was just as stunning in person.
This is also a glamorous look for brides!
The key to good makeup application is that it should look as good in person as it does in all types of photography and lighting. Too little and it will be washed out with flash photography and too much… and it will look overly stark on your face.
Very few people are blessed with naturally symmetrical brows. But if you are not one of those people then I say fake it till you make it!
Whether you have thick brows like Amna’s or especially if you have thinner brows, fill them in for symmetry and to make sure they do not get washed out in photography.
For hair, we decided to go for a simple yet elegant updo which brings attention to and highlights Amna’s stunning long neck, face shape and the deep cut back of the dress.
Hope you guys enjoy the pictures! I will be posting a few more looks by yours truly in the up coming weeks 🙂 .
